Dainius A. Drukteinis, also known as “Dr. Dan,” is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician at Tampa General Hospital, where he previously served as Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Department. He is also an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida where he teaches residents and medical students while caring for patients in the hospital.
Dr. Drukteinis received his medical degree at Cornell Medical School in 2004. He completed his emergency medicine residency training at New York University/Bellevue Hospital in 2008. He was voted Runner-Up by his peers for the Best Emergency Medicine Physician in the Tampa Bay region in Tampa Magazine December2017/January 2018.
Dr. Drukteinis is also an attorney. He received his law degree from Tulane University in 1996. He is a member of the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar. He currently testifies and performs medical record review in medical malpractice cases, in cases involving the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, and in cases involving Personal Injury Protection laws with regard to emergency medical care following automobile collisions.
Dr. Drukteinis grew up in Bedford, New Hampshire. He attended Bucknell University, in Pennsylvania where he double-majored in Economics and Spanish. He was a Judicial Clerk at the New Hampshire Supreme Court. He was also involved in stem cell research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to Florida from New England in 2011 with his wife and three children, where he is happy to have escaped the cold weather.
